Classic Trend – Jorge Lorenzo is considering which of his Yamaha’s Moto GP team members could follow him at Ducati next year. The 2015 Moto GP’s World Champion will follow the classic trend of the other Moto GP’s stars, when they move from one team to another. Lorenzo will not go to Yamaha only, but it will bring some key figures of his Yamaha team. In short, he wants to keep up a high level of familiarity. The most famous example of this classic trend is the former chief mechanic of Valentino Rossi, Jeremy Burgess. He followed the Italian champion from Honda to Yamaha and then in Ducati.
Ducati announced a two-year agreement with Jorge Lorenzo at the end of April. In late may, Lorenzo must choose which Yamaha’s Moto GP team members can move to Italy with him. “Let’s start the talks with some members of the Yamaha’s team,” told Lorenzo. “The atmosphere is always very good with the Yamaha’s Moto GP team members. Members who work at Yamaha are a real team. Work with peace of mind. For them it would be too difficult to change. For me as a driver, it’s easier, at this point in my career. I try a new challenge with a new team. Another team, another factory, like Ducati, I understand that perhaps for some of them the risk is too great. Anyway, I need some members of the Yamaha’s Moto GP team members, if it’s possible. No rush for now.”
Yamaha’s Moto GP team members: Ciabatti says Yes
Ducati Sport Director Pablo Ciabatti had already said that Jorge Lorenzo could bring some of his Yamaha’s Moto GP team members in Italy. However, Lorenzo should not penalize who work in Ducati factory The Spanish rider agrees that his 2017 team at the end will be a mix of members who knows and some crew members who know the Desmosedici. “I don’t think that Ducati will give me the opportunity to take 100 percent of my team,” he said. “They want to keep some of their team this year also, for being my team next year.”
