Silverstone – “In 2006 the situation was similar. I was very behind Hayden. However, every season is different. But recover these points is going to be difficult.” There are many races at the end of the world championship, but Valentino Rossi knows that recover the gap of 53 points will be almost impossible.
“I have to focus on me and on the work. On the bike and give my best. Should I try to get to the podium, points, to go fast as in the first part of the season, but making fewer mistakes.” said the Doctor at Silverstone GP press conference. “Then we’ll see. Meanwhile, there are seven races, most on circuits that I like. It’s going to be a good fight.“
In recent days, Rossi admitted that paying even the hardships of the past season. “Last year it was very intense and difficult. We had to fight point by point. You had to go to the Max and try not to make mistakes. Losing the title in that way it was difficult. Also in preparations for this season I made mistakes for this reason. One always tries to race with a clear head, sometimes you succeed, sometimes they make mistakes. Miss after all that effort wasn’t a good thing for the current season. Also last year I was ahead. This year they are behind and have to risk more. It’s easier to make mistakes.”
Silverstone GP, in 2015 Rossi won the Race
At Silverstone, Rossi arrived in good memory of victory a year ago. “It’s one of the most difficult circuits on the season. In 2010, I was away from the injury of the Mugello and within two years the Ducati was very slow and I had good feelings. Year after year, though, things got better and last year got a fantastic win in the rain. Because Lorenzo and Marquez were faster than me in the dryer. We must try now to continue to improve, understand the secrets of the track and be strong in all conditions.”
Between rain and dry, though, Rossi would prefer the latter. “In the last year, I’ve always been quite strong in the wet. However, I prefer the dry, you have more control and it’s even more fun.“
