Shoey – Dani Pedrosa won the San Marino Grand Prix. The Spanish rider of Honda precedes Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. Fourth place for Marc Marquez, leader of the 2016 World Championship.
For Pedrosa, author of a sensational comeback from eighth on the grid, this is the first win of the season. The 52th of his career. Fifth came the Suzuki of Maverick Vinales, sixth the Ducati of Andrea Dovizioso. In five races from the end, Marc Marquez remains firmly the MotoGP Championship’s leader with 223 points (+43 out on Valentino Rossi and +61 on Jorge Lorenzo). Pedrosa is fourth with 145 points. Spanish is the eighth different winner in the last eight Grands Prix in the premier class.
“This year’s great satisfaction. I’m sorry I won. Anyway, it was a good party. For the 2016 MotoGP title I’ll try to win.” said Rossi after his second place. On the podium he does the Shoey. However, Rossi will try to beat Giacomo Agostini’s victories. Marquez still seems far away, although today the Spanish of Honda did little. Dani Pedrosa is very happy for the first win of the season. MotoGP sees the eight different winners in eight races. A record for the show.
Shoey, Ricciardo did it in Germany
Yellow big party at Misano despite only second place to Valentino Rossi. The Italian champion lived and did leave a big party on the circuit dedicated to Marco Simoncelli, his good friend. Rossi has also drunk from boot as he did long ago F1 driver Ricciardo. It’s called the Shoey. The pilot celebrated his podium at Hockenheim drinking champagne from a shoe. So, he also made a gesture you’ll remember Jack Miller after his first career victory in MotoGP at Assen.
“It’s a tradition of Australian drivers. If you remember he did also Jack Miller after winning at Assen. I promised him that I would have done it too as soon as I won a race, but the podium in my 100th GP, that’s okay. This is a gesture that we call “shoey.” said after the GP the F1 pilot.
