Seat Leon Cupra – Ducati chooses a Spaniard. Jorge Lorenzo. And the new official car of MotoGP team will be the new Seat Leon Cupra, the most powerful model of the Spanish brand, able of producing up to 300 horsepower. Spanish car for a Spaniard pilot. No coincidence the choice of the Italian team. Ducati wants to win the MotoGP World Championship and it seems that the brand wants to make you feel at ease the former MotoGP World champion.
Not a Radical Change
Seat is part of the Volkswagen Group and, so, we cannot talk about radical change. The agreement provides for the Leon Cupra as official team car and the presence of the logos on the windshield of the Desmosedici, on the overalls of drivers and on the uniforms of the team. As well as being the new Spanish rider, Seat is a winning brand. He won twice the WTCC in 2008 and in 2009 and it won the 25 World Rally Championship.
Ducati doesn’t win a MotoGP from 2010
“We are very happy to welcome SEAT as a coach for the Ducati Team in MotoGP. It will be an exciting season for both Ducati riders Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso.” said Paolo Ciabatti. “SEAT Leon Cupra is a very sporty model. I am sure that our pilots and even team members want to drive this car as soon as possible.” Ducati doesn’t win a MotoGP from 2010. Casey Stoner won aboard the Italian bike and today is his test driver.

The new Seat Leon Cupra has its 2.0 TSI by Volkswagen. The maximum torque has increased from 350 to 380 NM, but also the maximum potency is greater. There is also a new body kit which includes a new rear spoiler, unique chrome, aluminium door sill guards, the shells of black exterior mirrors and double exhaust. The “baby” of Martorell is the first car of the Spanish brand able of overcoming the 300 HP. We’ll see if Jorge Lorenzo will be able to match the power of this true “fireball” made in Spain.
