SBK Championship – Some people consider Superbike a minor championship compared to MotoGP. Although the races are pleasing and often fought, MotoGP attracts many more fans. SBK Championship: The Dorna Request
Many believe that there are not big stars in SBK Championship. So, we can’t see the big rivalry. It is an environment where competition is not missing, but the riders have a different experience. In MotoGP, the top riders compete mainly in the race, leaving aside extra-track discussions. Dorna, organizer of both championships, would create more interest around the World SBK Championship. So, it made a specific request to the pilots. Something that had remained hidden until Chaz Davies has decided to show what the Spanish company has asked to the riders.
“Dorna asked us to fight among ourselves and hating each other a bit more. So, they expect that we will create interest. I understand their viewpoint, but I’m here to race and I’m not interested in that sort of thing. I don’t want this kind of fight.” said Davies. He wants to run and not to create interest on SBK fighting with colleagues.
No Intermediate tires in next MotoGP Season
There will be no intermediate tires next season in MotoGP. It’s the new decision of GP Commission. After consultation with the Safety Commission and with the Michelin’s approvation, next year the MotoGP Championship will abandon this type of tires. But it leaves intact the allocation tires. For each GP, a team will use the same current quantitative, divided between wet and dry tires. Then, when a GP is suspended after less than three laps, also the pilots, who have not concluded on the warm-up lap before the race, will start again.
