Opportunity Missed – The World Title goes away. Maybe. Valentino Rossi loses a chance. The Italian rider fell down when he was leading at Assen. Now, Marc Marquez stretches of 42 points. Too bad. The weekend wasn’t favorable to the Yamaha rider. Then, Rossi tried to do more. The wet track hasn’t forgiven him. “I was very fast, but I pushed too much. I was going too fast and I fell down. I’ve been a little ass.” said Rossi after the race.
Valentino Rossi does not seek excuses for dropping in Dutch GP who put it out. A fall that leaves him back even in the standings, 42 points behind Marc Marquez. An opportunity missed. “In the Championship, now is very difficult.” admitted the Doctor to the microphones of Sky Sports. “Here you had to retrieve points. Especially, on Lorenzo. He was in trouble all weekend. So, 42 points are many, but there are still many races. This season, I’m fast and competitive.”
An Opportunity Missed: Now Marquez is a strong Leader
An opportunity missed, but also the track did not make things easy. Maybe Moto GP Direction could make some different decisions. “Today, I was really easy to make a mistake.” explained Rossi. “After the restart, we started with the soft tyre behind. A great advantage of grip compared to the first part of the race. It was a right choice.” said the Doctor to the microphones of Sky Sports.
“I exited the curve 9 a lot faster than race-1. I got stronger and I fell down. It was my mistake. It was very easy to get it wrong. I don’t know if that part of the track was slippery, but these things a pilot needs to know. I pushed too hard and I fell down. Until there was a normal water quantity was very quick, I knew in the second half that I could push and go away, but I overdid it. I had arrived at the finish line. I saw the advantage accumulated slowed understanding to go too strong, but I got there.” concluded Rossi.
