Pramac Racing – Francesco Guidotti, Pramac’s team manager, explains that the Italian team has an excellent relationship with Ducati. However, the contract expires at the end of the 2017 and maybe it’s time to find a new partner. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of market drivers movement, but apparently in the Moto GP paddock something happens, in terms of links between the satellite teams and the main brand.
This morning there is a very interesting rumor. In 2018, Pramac Racing could bind to Suzuki, after a very long relationship with Ducati. At the microphone of Sky Sports MotoGP HD, the Pramac’s team manager Francesco Guidotti has confirmed the rumor. “It is not news to disprove. We have an excellent relationship with Ducati, which has existed for over ten years. Also, we have a contract until 2017. Our relationship with them is not in question. Clearly there are a lot of movements, so it’s fair to check other options.”
Pramac Racing and Suzuki
What are the reasons to try to change, Francesco Guidotti added. “For us the priority is being the direct emanation of the main brand and have a direct relationship as we have now with Ducati. See in the short to medium term what can happen with other houses. I think it’s only right against the sponsor and pilots.” The relationship between Pramac and Ducati is excellent. However, in MotoGP is always essential to have an alternative. “I repeat. The relationship with Ducati is very good. My job requires me to also look around and always have ready an alternative plan. That’s all.” Guidotti said. Finally, on having what may be the most attractive aspects of Suzuki, he said: “We have seen clearly the growth that has made over the past two years and surely they will engage with one team as well as the official one. This already reflects our will.”
