Valentino Rossi said that attacking Lorenzo carried too much risk in Austria. The Italian rider just finished behind Jorge Lorenzo, Yamaha’s teammate in the fourth place at the Red Bull Ring. Ducati ended the MotoGP victory drought with one-two for riders Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Lannone. Despite tailing Lorenzo after the frantic early changes of the race Rossi wasn’t in a place to try an overtake. He later admitted that any such kind of attempt would lead too much risk. He said that he is satisfied that he had finished just behind the Ducati duo.
On Sunday, Rossi said that he is not happy with the fourth place. Since, his target was to arrive on the podium. But it was quite good. He was just 3 seconds from its victory and not so far from Ducati. Rossi was disappointed that Lorenzo arrived in front as he was faster. Valentino was not very happy as he failed to overtake because of the racing condition. He wanted to take some overtakes, but it was a very difficult condition for everybody in the race.
Rossi tried to overtake but he considered the risk factor involved
It was difficult to exit from the corner and even it had too much risk to stop in braking. If he wanted to try or overtake then he had to risk too much. Every time he tried to get closer he made some mistakes. So he arrived in the fourth place at the end. He was asked that whether he is satisfied or not to have finished ahead of points of leader Marquez in Austria. Rossi responded that he is very happy as he covered two points. If they had 100 cars, then he could win the championship easily. Currently, Rossi is the third place with 8 races more to go. Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo are ahead of his by 57 and 14 points.
