Hard Tire – After the first day of Austrian GP free practice Valentino Rossi is worried about the tire. “The problem is the cold. Because there is little grip. The Michelin will ruin. But all riders have the same problem.” said Yamaha rider.
“After we tried harder. Because we had a chance to use them both. It’s good to grow.” said Rossi. The Doctor wants to to improve especially towards the end of the runway. “We have to work and improve. On the straight we our not the Ducati. Although in T1 and T2 we do not go bad. Now we must grow in T3 where I can’t hear well the bike to the rear. I consider it a positive day. However, there are so many things to see why so many did not use the new rear tyre at the end. We must understand the values.”
Hard Tire: Vinales went well with hard behind
“Then the Michelin technician told me that Vinales went well with the hardest behind. We tried it ourselves. We managed to improve the time. What we saw is that you can use either the soft that lasts.” adds the Doctor. “We must work because there’s a lot of degradation after a few rounds and you lose some. The hard option I like, but the race remains soft and so everything is still open.” concluded Rossi.
Ducati’s great star on the first Friday of the Austria Grand Prix. As already made while testing the DesmosediciGP prove to be perfectly at ease on the fast track to Spielberg, being the fastest, with the first and second time. Andrea Dovizioso first, Andrea Iannone second. Behind everyone else. The first of these is Maverick Vinales. The Spanish of Suzuki, after being fastest in the morning session, gets behind the two Ducati. Behind him, there is Valentino Rossi. He maintained the position already occupied in the morning with a performance very similar to that of his fellow teammates in 2017.
