The FIM – MotoGP announce the team names who will take part in Moto3 and Moto2 classes World Championship. There is also the Squadra Corse SIC58.
Five years ago, in Sepang, Marco Simoncelli died after an accident on the track. Today, the MotoGP champion will have “his” team in the 2017 Moto3 World Championship. Paolo Simoncelli, Marco’s father, created this team to help young drivers. But also he wants to leave a beautiful memory of his son into the world of two wheels. So, FIM – MotoGP announce that Squadra Corse SIC58 will be part of the 2017 Moto3 World Championship.
FIM – MotoGP Honor Marco Simoncelli
The team dedicated to Marco Simoncelli is called Squadra Corse SIC58 and the drivers will be Tony Arbolino (winner of a race at Jerez in CEV) and Tatsuki Suzuki. The couple will drive a Honda bike. Valentino Rossi continues its adventure in the world championship with his team. So, the Sky Racing Team VR46 will have two Moto3 riders (Bulega and Migno) and two Moto2 pilots (Bagnaia for sure).
It is a first small step for Squadra Corse SIC58. Maybe in the future the team will race in MotoGP World Championship. Paolo Simoncelli grows some very strong young talents and maybe one day will follow in Marco Simoncelli and its great friend Valentino Rossi’s footsteps.
