Favorite – Casey Stoner left Moto GP and motorcycling at the end of 2012. He didn’t like the stress and the environment. He did not want to continue his career in the world championship despite he was one of the top riders. He chose to retire and devote more time to her family and other passions. Surely, it would have been nice to see the Australian still on track against opponents as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez. However, we could see Stoner in one or two races, if he will accept a wild-card. In this 2016, he returns in Ducati, as a tester. The Italian factory will try to convince him to return to racing at least for one race.
The Favorite of Casey is the strongest rider and more consistent
Casey Stoner gave an interview to Speedweek and spoke about different topics very interesting. One of these is his return in Ducati. “During the 2015, I couldn’t work with Honda. I thought that they didn’t use my data and my tests. I know my value as a test driver. I have a lot to offer for engineers in development. I built a new relationship with Ducati. I want to help them. I want that Ducati returns to the top of the Moto GP World Championship.” Casey Stoner also spoke about his favorite rider in 2016 Moto GP’s World Championship. “I ran against Jorge. In recent years, he is the strongest rider and more consistent. If he doesn’t win the title, he’s still the winner’s first challenger. His victory in 2015 was very impressive. After three races, he had not yet reached a podium, but he came back and he won the title. He was amazing.”
Finally, Casey Stoner was also asked who was the favorite to win the 2016 title: “Jorge is the favorite because he defends the title. However, Marc Marquez won two years earlier (2013 and 2014) and Rossi is back.“
