Valentino Rossi The Doctor spoke about the past season and future programmes. The Yamaha rider will participate in the Rally of Monza 2017. “The tests went well. We tried the bike with the old chassis, that of 2016, and we decided. We all agree that the 2017 bike was worse, but we still have to wait to see what the new bike will look like. There will be something interesting. The starting point, however, will be the 2016 bike. Now it’s a delicate moment, from now until February Yamaha has to leap forward.”
What didn’t work with the 2017 motorbike?
“What didn’t work with the 2017 motorbike? The problem is that Viñales arrived and with this bike, he immediately went strong. As soon as I tried it, I didn’t feel right. I thought that maybe since it was the end of the season, I was not in shape. We continued with that project. But it was a mistake because we lost a lot of time. What didn’t work? We did a lot of research, and I think the bike went wrong where there was little grip, and it was hot. The first three races took place outside Europe, and there was a lot of grip, plus Qatar ran in the evening. Then in Jerez Grand Prix, the trouble started.” Valentino Rossi The Doctor said.

“It has been hard because breaking the tibia and fibula is very painful. I had already happened at Mugello. So, I was desperate for three reasons: pain, long recovery from the operation, and I lost the 2017 world champions battle. This year I hurt myself twice in training. The first time I was lucky to even though I did very poorly because the handlebar in my belly also caused me some blood in my lungs. But it had gone well. Then I crashed and broke my leg.”
Why do I have so much attention in the paddock?
“I already imagine the future of MotoGP without me. When that happens, some of my opponents will be happy. Why do I have so much attention in the paddock? I do not know; perhaps it is a set of things. I had a very long career and won so much. And then people fell in love, so many people who did not follow the bike thanks to me started to develop.” Valentino Rossi The Doctor said. “Yes, I am afraid to stop. I think I will have another ten years to run with the cars. I would like to run rallies and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Fernando Alonso is engaged with my former Linda and will run her. Maybe we run it together. It frightens me a little about healthy living, but I think we’ll somehow do it.”
