Zero Motorcycles released the new 2018 models. They look little different from the 2017’s on the outside (except the gorgeous new silver paint!), it’s what’s inside that counts. The Zero Motorcycles further develops a more important point of the world of electric mobility, autonomy. In 2018, the brand will sell new battery packs that guarantee a 10% increase in distance and fast recharging.
New batteries
The new batteries will be 3, ZF 14.4, ZF 7.2 and ZF 3.6. The user will also have the possibility of combining different battery packs. It will be possible to cover about 359 km in the urban cycle. Besides the new batteries, the Zero Motorcycles has designed a new additional charger for 2018 that, combined with the one supplied, would reduce charging time by about six times compared to the traditional one. Charging is reduced to 1 hour for the ZF 7.2 and 2 hours for the larger ZF 14.4.
Zero Motorcycles improves the quality of the components
It’s great to see they’re continuing to push battery capacity forward, while also continuing to improve the quality of their components. Zero Motorcycles expects an increase in performance for all its bikes with ZF 7.2 and ZF 14.4 batteries. The 7.2 2018 battery will increase torque by 11%, while the larger 7.2 2018 battery will provide 30% more torque and power. All batteries will equip the 2018 models at no additional charge, except for the Zero SR and Zero DSR. To equip the two most important bikes in the Zero Motorcycles range with the updated battery pack, you will need to pay $560. The Power Tank ZF 3.6 is available for purchase at a cost of about $3,600. All models in version 2018 will also be equipped with new graphics.
