Honda Gold Wing 2018 – Honda has officially shown a teaser video of his Gold Wing, which has been rebuilt for 2018. But photos are also already circulating on the internet. The last is new Honda Gold Wing was introduced in 2001 when the GL 1800 was introduced 16 years ago. There have been changes, facelifts, and updates over the years, but there has been no change in the basics.
Honda Gold Wing 2018, the photos tell a lot
Unfortunately, the actual pictures do not have any technical data, but they tell a lot. The frame and chassis are completely redesigned. The front 
is equipped with a wheel guide according to the Hossack fork type. Honda draws similar conclusions as BMW, that telescopic forks are not the best variant for large, heavy tourers. The Hossack construction separates brake and spring forces. It should improve both ride comfort and handling on the 2018 Gold Wing. So, we would be shocked if the Honda Gold Wing wouldn’t get a semi-active chassis with selectable tuning.
Gold Wing 2018 Engine
The engine of the Honda Gold Wing will remain a six-cylinder boxer with a longitudinal crankshaft in 2018. The throttle valves 
are controlled electronically, which opens the door for driving modes and a modern cruise control system. There are hardly any reasons to increase the current 1832 cm³ displacement. Honda is the forerunner in semi-automatic dual clutch transmissions for motorcycles. So, the Honda Gold Wing is sure to be equipped with it as a top model. That’s optional because some pictures show a clutch lever, others don’t. Some speculations even go towards seven-speed transmissions, and reverse gear is mandatory given the mass of the motorcycle.
Electronics
The cockpit comprises a huge, colorful display, which is also responsible for the stereo system, smartphone connection, and navigation device. It is controlled by a rotary push-and-push control, similar to BMW‘s iDrive system. Its solution is superior to a touchscreen, for glove operation. The windshield will be electrically adjustable for the first time on a Gold Wing. We were told that a radio key and a central locking system for their suitcases equipped the new Honda Gold Wing.
F6B
If you follow the available pictures, as Honda also deduces an excavator from the 2018 Gold Wing, under the well-known model name F6B. It has a lower windscreen and does without the top case. Even though the Honda Gold Wing, the model year 2018, will be better equipped than the current Honda Gold Wing. It seems to do without the airbag. This one feature was a specialty of the model. But either it’s much better hidden at the 2018 Gold Wing – or it’s missing altogether. We have not found a place where an airbag could be accommodated. We know more at the end of October when the Honda Gold Wing 2018 will be presented.
