Honda CBX – The Honda’s 1978–’82 CBX inline-six Superbike is a cult for customizers. That identical audacity often ends up in, let’s name it, “over-proposal”. That’s genuinely not the case with Nick O’Kane’s CB-XXX. So, it is a decent and tidy performance-stimulated update of this overdue ’70s standard.
Honda CBX Superbike Trackbike: Not possible to resist
The Honda CBX 1,047cc six-cylinder being designed by Shoichiro Irimajiri. He designed Honda’s landmark ’60s GP six-cylinders. The attraction of the 1982-version CBX basket case O’Kane discovered became not possible to resist. “Build a minimalistic CBX racer, it’s a mix of the first CBX lines. But it adds modern Sportbike components, suspension, and wheel.” said O’Kane.
So, his role as the national account manager at K&N Filters allows him to have some sources. One in each of that allowed for the custom fabrication of a carbon-fiber fuel tank and bodywork within the K&N shops. Molds were the force from inventory, parts of varied years. Especially the cool spoiler-geared up 1979 tail section—then reshaped to suit the racier stance.

O’Kane freshened up the plate, tidied up the six carburetors. And, of course, he has custom K&N filters in an exceeding number of three-into-3 setups. “So, I can’t say decent about the sound of this bike.” said O’Kane. “A symphony of six cylinders involves lifestyles as you open the throttle.”
Like most people who build a project like this, he is glad for all the help from varied those that season understanding and components recommendation. “So, largest thanks go to my wife Anja for her infinite help of my motorcycle-constructing conduct.” concluded O’Kane.
