2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 – Suzuki Motor America unveils the price of its new Superbike range. The price of 2017 GSX-R1000 and 2017 GSX-R1000R is $14,599 MSRP. The prices are not low. Comparing it to Yamaha R1S ($ 14,999) and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R ($ 16,099 with ABS). The two rivals have lower prices, offering even more functionality. We can say the same for the Suzuki GSX-R1000R comparing with the Yamaha YZF-R1 ($ 16,699) and with the Yamaha YZF-R1M ($ 22,499), as well as with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR ($ 18,899), the new Honda CBR1000RR ($ 16,999) and the Honda CBR1000RR SP ($ 19,999).

Compared to the earlier engine, it increases the diameter of the new forged aluminum pistons (from 74.5 to 76 mm), the compression ratio (from 12.9:1 to 31.2:1) and the diameter of the intake valves (from 30 to 31.5 mm). While the exhaust valves are now in titan and not in steel. The Japanese brand redesegned even the 6-speed gearbox. It has the new system SCAS (Suzuki Clutch Assist System).
