Mercedes CLA: $32,400 – $49,950
Mercedes CLA: Main Features
The Mercedes CLA shares the technical basis with Class A. But is aesthetically inspired by CLS. It is a sedan-coupé with a clean image, slender windows and an inclined tail that guarantees the body’s momentum (463 cm long). The interiors are very refined. The result of a mix of sporty elements and “solid” and elegant lines. The automatic air conditioning system is standard equipment. Although approved for five, it offers “just” space on board for four adults.

Engines
The Mercedes CLA’s layout is a perfect balance between comfort and driving pleasure. On the road, the car is rewarding, mainly if you choose the most vibrant engines, i. e. the 200 d and 220 d diesel engines (2.1 of 170 or 177 hp respectively) or 250 petrol engines (2.0 turbocharged 211 hp or 218 hp). Or the very sporty 45 AMG of 381 HP. Alternatively, there are two other petrol turbos, both 1.6 but with 156 hp in the case of 200 or 122 hp for 180, with the addition of 1.5 turbodiesels from 109 hp 180 d).
The 200 is a great success
If you don’t drive many kilometers, the 200 is a great success, which can be enhanced with the automatic transmission. Otherwise, the 170hp diesel 200d diesel combines high performance with low fuel consumption. Among the four Mercedes CLA displays, those called Business and Sport have the best price-to-equipment ratio. But if you want the navigator and the rear camera you have to buy the costly Premium (li offers as standard). As an alternative to the standard trim, you can choose the sporty one, which is lowered by 20 mm in front and 15 mm behind.

Mercedes CLA: What enthusiasts say
Customer 1. CLA 250 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 7AM)
My new Mercedes CLA 250 has almost no power. Transmission in economic mode is clumsy. But you drive very well. It has a good mileage of gas (average 26.5 in the city). If you turn off the economy mode, the car is perkier.

We have just returned from a journey of 1,600 miles of road, on average 40 mpg. One day we have 48 of them. My husband, driving a great SUV, really enjoyed the car on the highway. It’s a lot of peppets for the passage, it handles well and without any problems and is quiet.
Customer 2. CLA 250 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 7AM)
This car doesn’t come with essential features as a standard option. I somehow ended up with this “robotic” car that doesn’t have garage door opener buttons as a primary option. My 13-year-old honda pilot and every car since have come with that as a standard feature. How can a luxury car like Mercedes not include that and not even as an optional add-on after the fact strange?
Customer 3. CLA 250 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 7AM)
Let me begin by saying this is my first new car, ever. It is my first Mercedes & luxury vehicle. I am accustomed to the Mazda3 & GMC work truck that being said, anything new is a significant step up so take this review with a grain of salt. So, for a “basic” CLA250 model I am impressed with the gorgeous body lines & technology. The keyless entry has become common. But for me, this is new & so convenient than others. There are 4 or maybe five different driving settings. I’m not a huge car person, but I was so impressed by the significant changes I could feel by switching mode from comfort to sport or ECO. This car is very polished inside & out.

I scored a great lease special, be sure to look out for them online. I assumed this was not doable & I would get a new Mazda3 or something practical. So, happy I “splurged” (mind you, my payments are LESS than my USED Mazda3). I got an amazing car, to me at least. Even my grandparents who have been frequent Mercedes customers loved my new “beginner model” CLA 250 inside & out. Side note, I am a small girl…this vehicle suits me perfectly! My boyfriend is 6’2 & he says he fits comfortably in the passenger seat however when the sea is that far back it is difficult to have sufficient visibility when backing up. lol.
