Garmin Speak – Amazon Alexa is the voice assistant developed by the web giant and continues to show its remarkable versatility. After showing his best qualities within Echo, Amazon’s smart speaker, some manufacturers (such as Ford and BMW) integrated it into some car models. Now, Garmin has announced a smart speaker called Speak, which promises to make road navigation even more advanced.

Garmin Speak doesn’t need an internet connection or connect to a WiFi network to work
Garmin Speak is a small device with an LED ring and a simple OLED display that shows the right direction for the driver. Also, Alexa’s voice will accompany and specify visual indications. It allows interaction with the driver (or passengers) to receive information on traffic, weather or the latest news from around the world. Garmin Speak doesn’t need an internet connection or connect to a WiFi network to work. But it mates with a smartphone through an app, taking advantage of data access. It can play music via Bluetooth or AUX output and also allows you to accept or reject calls.

You can also use Garmin’s turn-by-turn navigation by saying “Alexa, ask Garmin.” Users will place orders on Amazon. So, it controls their smart devices at home through the Garmin Speak. For example, if you have forgotten to turn off the lights or close the door (and you have original home accessories for you), you can just control everything from the driver’s seat.
$149,99, the price
Garmin Speak also has limits. It doesn’t support the calls cannot. Then, it is not possible to send SMS messages by voice command. Streaming music is only possible through the service provided by Amazon. It is incompatible with Spotify. Garmin Speak will soon be available in the USA for $149.99.
