Bugatti Chiron – Bugatti has set a new record with the Chiron. When you brush your teeth in the morning (two minutes should be enough), the Bugatti will go from 0 to 400 km/h three times and brake to a standstill again! After 13.1 seconds, the speedometer reached 300 km/h, after 32.6 seconds 400, and after just under ten more seconds (41.9 seconds), the car stood again.
Bugatti Chiron and Montoya
For the record race (“certified by SGS-TÜV Saar” according to the Bugatti “), former Formula 1 racing driver Juan Pablo Montoya was behind the wheel. The three-time winner of the Daytona 24 Hours gave the Chiron the right spurs and elicited full power from the eight-liter engine, but not top speed. Bugatti still doesn’t set a speed limit for the Chiron. There should be an official figure in 2018: according to initial speculations, the French are aiming for 450 km/h or more.
Bugatti Veyron retains Vmax title
The current record is also at Bugatti. In July 2010, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport set a record of 431 km/h under the supervision of “Guinness World Records”. However, the customer’s hand in this super sports car, which has only sold five times, is limited to 415 km/h. The American sports car manufacturer Hennessey also tried his luck on the straight: with the Venom GT Hennessey drove 427 km/h on his own record speed but without official supervision. The record remains with Bugatti. 2018 Hennessey will send a new competitor for the Chiron on the track and, according to his own statements, is aiming for a speed of up to 467 km/h.
