The Playstation 4 Gran Turismo Sport GT is here. It’s the seventh installment of one of the world’s best-selling video games and presents updates designed for high-end fans.
An integral part of the video game
You must always be logged in the server. It is an essential part of the video game. So, there’s little to do if you’re offline. A month ago, Sony warned that “to ensure a fair race for all, GT Sport will require an Internet connection for most features. It ensures important features such as progress, car availability and current ratings.”
Playstation 4 Gran Turismo Sport GT Arcade mode
The Arcade mode could be a problem for you. In fact, it could take part in one-off races against IA, time trials, “drift trials,” double screen battles with split-screen and limited VR mode. Also, you will only have access to cars and circuits unlocked online. If the servers are turned off, or the PS4 is not connected to the Internet, no other parts of the game are available. So, you can’t save your progress. Also, Campaign mode (the career mode that includes the Gran Turismo® driving school) is offline and offline. Also not available offline is the purchase of new cars, garage display, and carpentry modification. Even you can’t use the “Take pictures of fantastic cars in an exotic setting” mode.
Gran Turismo Sport GT and FIA
Sony didn’t want to put its customers in trouble. But the decision is due to the relationship between Gran Turismo® and FIA, the international organization that manages the world motorsport. The FIA-acknowledged e-sports are an integral part of the game. So, keeping everyone’s savings in the cloud means keeping everyone honest and on board. Why did Polyphony Digital limit Gran Turismo content to online use? “Local saving only contains hardware settings such as monitor resolution or HDR calibration, etc.” It is the official response.
